-Castle Combe Easter Monday 6th April 2026 Report
There should have been at least 9/10 starters in the Wsscc line up (we were given our own race, instead of supporting one of the other races) However we lost one before our Quali , who decided that he would do another race, and 2 others after Quali. Namely Damian whose Transmission problems had now reached the rear axle! Also, Andrew Williams who stopped on the first corner with Fuel problems and try as he may he couldn’t find, let alone solve the problem!
Jason was to take Pole in his Ford Sapphire Turbo. Damion would have been 2nd only 2.5 behind but was a Did Not Start! James Harvey (Porsche Boxster S) was now effectively 2nd
2026 WSSCC Round 1 – 20 minutes Rolling Start
Our normal Race distance is 15 minutes but Combe must have needed to fil up the day, so they gave us 20 minutes race time! Combe is one of the quickest Circuits we race on, and at the start, Jason and his Ford ran away and was never headed. He did 17 laps of the 1.8 miles lap in the 20 minutes! Naturally he picked off the back-markers quickly enough and he eventually lapped the entire field, but James Harvey resisted for as long as he could and was only lapped once! A fine effort! The midfield bunch Thomas Fowler, Cerredig Williams and Graham Huxter provided some of the closest racing, until late on Graham Huxter retired to the pits! So out of 9 Qualifiers we ended Race 1 with only 5 finishers! Jason was the Overall winner and Verity Banks was the final finisher!

He eventually lapped the entire field, but James Harvey resisted for as long as he could and was only lapped once! Another fine effort! Tomas Fowler (Mazda RX8) made it into 3rd Place
Behind those Three, it was all chaos on the way into Quarry Corner on lap one as Graham Huxter and Cerredig Williams got together and Verity slipped by into 4th place!
Graham recovered to pass Verity but she stayed ahead Cerredig for most of the race until he eventually retired to the pits! So again Jason was the Overall winner and Verity Banks was the final finisher!
